rufus greerTell us about your past work experience | education:
I was in sales support at Callard & Associates 2003 – 2004 and absorbed so much during my first year at the Mart.

I started in customer service at Dessin Fournir Companies and was promoted to inside sales 6 months later. I really enjoyed expanding my career in sales there. 2004 – 2013

I was the outside sales representative for The Rug Company 2013 – 2016 and always found a way through the challenges of outside sales.

Where were you raised?
Northwestern, IL

What is/was your most rewarding project and why?
My most rewarding project had to be for Conrad Shades. It was a nearly 100k order that I saw through from start to finish. The installer/designer and end user were enjoyable to work with.

How would you characterize your design style?
I am drawn to so many different design styles and appreciate so much, but I would say my style leans towards Transitional/Traditional Eclecticism.

In your experience working at Lee Jofa thus far, what is/are some of your favorite product lines and why?
Certainly Brunschwig & Fils because of the history behind the fabrics along with the vibrant colors and patterns. I really believe something in this line can be worked in to any design style to make a space extra special.

What is your favorite color?
Right now my favorite color is turquoise, but I tend to be attracted blues.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to visit with family and friends, read, spend time at the park with my dog Mickey, volunteer and cook simple, but delicious meals.

What is your favorite food?
My favorite food changes quite a bit. I’ve loved Ethiopian food for years, but a main stay is soul food.

Where do you draw your inspiration from? Is there anything you do to get you inspired when you hit a slump?
I’m a pretty imaginative, but I draw a lot of inspiration from life experiences, nature and the some of the travel I’ve done nationwide and abroad.

Anything else you would like to share?
While I can be fairly reserved at times, I absolutely love listening to peoples experience and how it shapes who they are.
